Komik Kon Malaysia

07 November 2015

If you are a fan of collectible toys and all-things comic, you definitely need to be a part of Komik Kon Malaysia.

Founded earlier this year, Komik Kon Malaysia was started by a group of comic enthusiasts who share the same passion for collectible toys, comics, movies and television. This new organisation especially caters to comic die hard fans after they discovered this new interest from existing events held in Malaysia that proved there was a potentially a bigger market in this country for an event of this scale, across different genres.

This year marks the inaugural Komik Kon Malaysia event to be held at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), from 13th-15th November, 2015. With a group of experienced team members behind this community-based set up, the company called Komik Kon Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., will definitely be putting up a fun-filled three-day outdoor event at the massive MAEPS venue.

An organisation that gathers enthusiasts of collectible toys and comics may be alien to many of us, but it has received great response from a fairly large community in Malaysia. According to the organisers of Komik Kon Malaysia, it was as if the fans had been waiting for an event like this all along. Thus, the organisers were delighted to be the ones laughing what they hoped would be a regular event in the coming years. “We really hope that everyone will have a great time coming out to Komik Kon 2015.” Names like the legendary Lat, Pekomik, Boboiboy, Keluangman, Cingkus Blues, The Chici Chaca Show, Lil’ Monster, Star Wars Fan Boy, 501st Legion Malaysia, Helios Props & Costumes, Ultra Sparks (Ultraman), Malaysian Mandarin, and Comics Society have already been added to the line-up so far.

So what can comic enthusiasts expect from the upcoming Komik Kon Malaysia in November? Well, there will be a good mix of television, film, animation, comics and toy collectors at this year’s Komik Kon. Fans will also get to witness the many fan base clubs and communities who will be collaborating with the event for plenty of activities. There will be a Cosplay competition, awesome performances, cool lucky draws, panels and forums. Last but not least, there will be fan art movie props that will also be displayed, providing a little bit of something for the whole family!

Finally, Komik Kon Malaysia 2015 works as a platform for the numerous fan base clubs that have been around for quite sometime, to showcase what they stand for on a bigger scale of audience. Komik Kon Malaysia aims to share and celebrate the beauty of pop culture for both local and international visitors to the Convention. The hope is that the event expands creativity, as well as connects like-minded individuals with this platform, in order to grow the comic industry here.
