MALLS OF YESTERYEAR

In Kuala Lumpur where new malls are constantly coming up and old ones are being refurbished to meet modern consumer needs, there are constitutions that still stand strong through the decades. We browse through some of Kuala Lumpur’s earliest shopping destinations: Campbell Complex, Pertama Complex and Wisma Central.

Murals breathing new life into Wisma Central.

Wisma Tailor was established in 1974. Its clientele over the years include Malaysia Golf Association and Malaysia Swimming Association.

Projek Rabak, a collective of musicians, writers, poets, painters, filmmakers, theatre activities and more, have set up shop at Wisma Central. Pictured here is Sefa from the collective.

Located close to Campbell Complex and Pertama Complex, Capital Cafe has been serving up hot food for over 50 years.

Campbell Complex is a treasure trove of secondhand and vintage items.
